The weekend and the case of the" bleh" room.

I hope everyone's weekend went well. I spent mine working and then never leaving bed. The never leaving bed part was really lovely. Got to watch a couple of movies...
Hunger Games, which I haven't seen since it was in theatres.
And Sucker Punch... Which while trippy and cool was just too weird.

What did you guys  do this weekend?

{I wanted to go on a picnic (the weather in the valley was gorgeous this weekend), but time got away from me!
Did any locals get out to the swap on Sunday in Phoenix? I saw the event on instagram and it looked like so much fun; I'm definitely joining in next time.}

But really, tell me about your lives! I'd love to hear more about my wonderful followers and I could always use some inspiration and ideas of what to do on the weekends to come!

potential room look

So... my room has just felt really dumpy lately. Just, bleh.
Right now my desk is a card table.
No joke.
And finals week is coming up. So, feel free to kill me now.
I'm thinking of making my room a mix between vintage and modern... I think it can be done! Right now, I'm obsessing over bright colors, the world and DIY, so I believe my room is going to reflect that! I'm also incredibly obsessed with chevron (anyone who knows me knows that) and like weird, unique pieces!

I'm hopefully hitting up Ikea, Target, Ross, Home Goods and a vintage show this weekend to find some stuff; I'm so excited!

How to style.... Chambray Shirt

#1 maxi skirt

I swear maxi skirts are the best invention ever. They're basically a shoe-in for sweat pants and are cute too! I usually like to pair my chambray shirt tied with a black maxi skirt, but I love the idea of this bright coral to make it a little more spring-y!

#2 flouncy skirt

Another way I like to wear my chambray shirt is with a flowy/flouncy skirt. I'm especially digging florals right now! I can see this look with a day of shopping or going out to brunch with some friends. Chambray shirts are easy to dress up or down, so their versatility is really amazing!

#3 floral shorts

I've personally never worn this but I like this for a casual day. Maybe have the shirt knotted a little at the bottom, throw your hair up in a bun and toss on the sunnies. It's a great outdoor look for summer and running errands!

Totally craving everything spring/summer right now.

1. This floral dress from Modcloth.
I love the jewel tones and the pleats.

2. These adorable polka dotted Keds.
How perfect would these be with a vintage dress?

3. Statement heels; preferably in mint.
I don't know what it is about this color, but I'm absolutely smitten with it.

4. A structured coral bag.
Okay, I'm totally smitten with this color too.

5. Arrow accessories.
Not only these earrings, but I've got my eye on a pair of arrow hair pins, too.

6. Snow White and the Seven dwarves ring
I already have an obsession with rings... And Disney... So why not put those two together?

7. A new desk.
I especially love the vintage look of this one.

8. Wishbone necklace.
I've always had this thing about wishbones; I don't know why I don't already own this.

9. Kate Spade Phone Case
It's Kate Spade... Nuf' said.

From Thought Catalog, 25 Ways To Feel Better When You Feel Sad

Getting the top and your hair down.

I was never really one of those country music girls.
Sure, I'd enjoy it once in a while, but ended up switching to something else; anything else (it really wasn't my favorite).

But lately I've been dreaming of trading in my Mazda 3 for a little red Mustang convertible... Which is making me a country music girl. I drive to school with my windows down blaring 102.5 like nobody's business and it's the best. Where has this feeling been?!

It's nice to be able to let your hair down; even if it's just on your ten minute drive to school.

The busy week...

Heck, this post should really be titled "the busy season" or "the busy life"... Things are so crazy right now! Between schoolwork, classes, work and friends,  I haven't had much room to breath. I think it's catching up with me because these past two days, I've been on the fritz and a lot has been setting me  off. I really shouldn't be allowed to interact with people.

I'm starting to cook more, which I really like. That also means more frequent trips to Trader Joe's and coming home with a bouquet or two of flowers, but really, who's complaining about that?

I also decided to try and cut down my spending and try mixing more in my wardrobe that I already have and seeing what I truly need. Kind of a 30x30 in the style of Kendi from Kendi Everyday, but my entire closet until I can figure out how to budget well. Sounds like something I should be focusing on in these college years before I totally grow up, right? Yay for getting priorities straight!

Trader Joe's is seriously the best market to go to around here... I love how easy and tasty their stuff is!

So pretty in Arizona right now! Even if the allergens are absolutely crazy and driving me nutty. Lately I've been loving the desert scenery; I must be going crazy.

Today is a very lazy day for me. And I'm realizing I seriously need to invest in a tripod for my Cannon because theses college bathroom mirror pictures aren't exactly top notch.

My boyfriend and I made dinner for my dad and ourselves the other day and it was so fun! I love teamwork in the kitchen; it's the true test of a relationship! Even if I did burn the garlic bread... I swear I'm getting better at cooking!

Making the Last Week of March Count

Can you guys believe it's already April 2nd? My how time has flown by this year... I just hope it flies by just as quickly to summer! I was on work overload last week so I was pretty worn out, but somehow still managed dressing well; thank goodness.

On the topic of April, it's 10:40 AM and I have yet to be "April Fools"-ed yet (even though by posting this I'm totally just asking for it). I'm hopefully hitting the gym after class today... Mostly because I have a neon trend going on with my gym clothes right now that I really want to put on.

Anyway, here's my week in outfits and a couple random pictures of some adventures!

Monsters University is coming out this summer and we couldn't be more excited! The merchandise on the Monsters University website is AWESOME, too. I already have the travel mug and am lusting over the license plate frame...

School spirit!

Easter nails. I never liked purple much but I love it in a manicure, go figure.
